If you decide to enlist my services, a deposit will be requested, and I'll immediately begin planning your ceremony and/or reception music, and subcontracting musicians to meet your needs. Planning sessions are $50 for an hour of auditioning and selecting music. Contracting players is 10% of the performers' fees. Q: Why do I need a music consultant?
A: In most cases, you don't! But read on...

Wedding coordinators specialize in overall planning: reserving venues, making arrangements with florists and caterers, ordering decorations, directing the rehearsal, etc. And if they know their stuff, they can refer you to appropriate musicians. But in my experience, many brides and even consultants treat music as an afterthought, often leaving it till the last minute. (I arrived early to set up for a wedding in Donelson this summer, only to find the organ locked and not a soul knew where the key was kept! Fortunately the piano was available.)

I believe that music is every bit as essential to the ceremony as where the groomsmen stand or what the bridesmaids wear. So I make extensive plans with the bride to select the right music by meeting in person to audition pieces, then communicating back and forth by email and/or phone till it's just right. If desired, I'll bring in singers and instrumentalists to suit. At the rehearsal, I always insist that a full walk-through of the bridal attendants and the bride takes place early in the rehearsal so everyone knows their cues. This gives me an essential sense of the timing required for the various parties to get to their places. I want your ceremony to be beautiful, go smoothly and be memorable!
